Period is basically a length of time or the interval or portion of time. In geology, periods are said to be subdivisions of an era making the time frame smaller. Style could actually be associated with fashion. Now, periods and style is basically the in on a certain day or year. Take the skinny jeans for example. These jeans evolved in 1980s and now they are becoming a hit though in 1990s elephant pants were more of a blockbuster than these skinny jeans.
